Let’s Ban the word Diet
Going on a diet is a personal decision that only you should make for yourself. It is hard work, involving a total life style change that will take you a while to get used to. Many stigmas are associated with diets that don’t have to be there. If you “fall off the wagon” it can be mentally taxing and think that you can never get started again. The pressure you put on yourself, and there by the pressure of others, can many times lead to a failed diet.
But diets don’t have to be this way. It isn’t all about eating crumbs and working out until you’re too tired to move. All those seemingly popular approaches are detrimental to your health. Humans need a good healthful daily diet of many ingredients to help our bodies to run at its most efficient. It can’t possible do so when you are putting a fraction of the food you normally eat into your stomach. Yeah, you lose weight, but you degrade your health.
Other options are out there for you to achieve an active and healthy way of life. You don’t need to break yourself, instead, you need to do what is right for you. Putting more fruits and vegetables into your daily diet and balancing out the amount of carbs and fats you eat will significantly help you to feel better.
Losing weight is a gradual process. Meaning that you make one change, see a result, keep going and then make another change and see more results. It took years for you to put the extra weight on, right? It won’t come off over night, or even in a week.
You can create a better you, one that you’re happy with over time and consideration for yourself. Be kind to your body. Work out by taking a few walks per week. More health benefits of taking this approach are relevant to the overall picture than pushing yourself to the edge of exhaustion.
